Billed as “a colourful countryside pub”, The Carpenters Arms in Great Wilbraham opened a new chapter in its 250-year history in 2022, following refurbishment and reopening by East Anglian hospitality group Chestnut.

With restored period features, including beamed ceilings and open fires; a stunning glass-walled restaurant, which wraps around the rear of the property; plus colourful decor and comfy soft furnishings, it’s known for its inviting atmosphere - and also for excellent food and drink.

To mark Velvet’s 200th issue, Chestnut is giving you the chance to win afternoon tea for four at The Carpenters Arms, worth £88! Served Monday to Saturday, priced £22 per head, the tea includes a selection of finger sandwiches, sausage rolls, scones and sweet treats, all handmade in the open onsite kitchen.
