Now’s your chance as Su Khanna, AKA the supremely talented Cambridge Calligrapher, is giving away two tickets to her Cocktails and Calligraphy Summer Workshop at The LAB, Cambridge on June 20. One lucky winner will receive a pair of tickets plus two personalised gifts, totalling £200.

Su began calligraphy as a creative outlet when caring for her newborn daughter. “I found calligraphy allowed me to switch off but stay alert at the same time so I could be there when my daughter needed me,” she explains.

A few months later, a business owner in the hospitality industry sat next to Su in a café whilst she was lettering away and offered her paid work. “That was my first job. I’m still doing work for them today!” she smiles.

Su trained in various techniques including calligraphy engraving of metal, glass, wood, and leather. Her skills were snapped up by a luxury brand who commissioned her to do their Christmas brand activations. Su has since worked for countless high-end brands, at well-known events, and even met A-list celebrities whilst providing live engraving services, bespoke stationery and calligraphy customisation. “I enjoy being part of a secret society going to top secret luxury events you don’t always see online. I am part of a world where traditional art is appreciated and brings people a lot of joy,” she enthuses.

Su runs in-person workshops that focus on calligraphy and wellbeing in Cambridge, London and further afield, for individuals and for companies, where people can relax, have fun, and learn a new skill.

Locally she is hosting an Affirmations Calligraphy Workshop at The Studio in Bartlow, May 11; Live Engraving for Father’s Day at John Lewis, Cambridge, June 7, and her Cocktails and Calligraphy Workshop at The LAB, Regent Street, Cambridge, June 20.
