The Diary: Why Rob's got sax appeal
Now in his second year at the Royal Academy of Music studying classical saxophone, local talent Rob Burton (he studied at Hinchingbrooke School, Huntingdon) will play a lunchtime recital at the Assembly House, Norwich, on Thursday 28 March at 1pm.
We don’t often encourage readers to wander off patch, but we make an exception for this young talent.
Rob entered the BBC Young Musician of the Year competition in 2018 and managed to progress to the Grand Final, out of 450 competitors, playing with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra at Birmingham Symphony Hall.
The Norwich recital sees Rob, who is 19, play with pianist Christine Zerafa and the programme will include works by Marcello, Muczynski and Debussy.
