Music: Britten Sinfonia brings children’s book to life
Cambridge’s world-class orchestra tells the story of The Robot and the Bluebird in this family-friendly concert
Billed as “a heartwarming musical adaptation of the hit children’s book”, Britten Sinfonia’s latest family-friendly Cambridge concert tells the tale of The Robot and the Bluebird through music and storytelling.
Aimed at children aged 4 to 7, it’s based on the book by David Lucas, loved for the story of friendship at its core, and features specially created animations (Victor Craven) and a brand new orchestral/jazz-inspired score (Ralph Clarkson).
Taking place at West Road Concert Hall on Saturday, July 20, two 50-minute performances of The Robot and the Bluebird are scheduled for 11.30am and 2pm.
They mark the latest in Britten Sinfonia’s long-running series of family-friendly concerts. Say the team: “It's a wonderful local arts event this summer, perfect for a family outing, and great summer holiday entertainment for families and music lovers in Cambridgeshire.”
