Garden Club: Let It Snow

When Ickleton’s Caldrees Manor makes its National Garden Scheme debut this month, the star attraction will be the acer glade which, as winter begins to wane, is carpeted with thousands of snowdrops.

Spanning several acres and boasting everything from formal borders and a Japanese garden to a wild woodland walk, lakes and streams, the Manor’s grounds are opening on Saturday, February 15, 10am-4pm, as part of the annual NGS Snowdrop Festival, which sees more than 100 gardens open their gates nationwide.

Another Cambridgeshire property taking part in the festival is Clover Cottage, West Wickham: opening on three consecutive Sundays, February 16 and 23 and March 1, 2-4pm, it’s famous amongst galanthophiles for its snowdrop collection.
