Exhibition: Winter comes to Ely's Babylon Arts
As we wave off April’s weird wintery weather, mist, frost, ice and snow are settling at Ely gallery Babylon Arts.
Inspired by The Big Freeze - a diary kept by Soham woman Betty Mann, it charts the area’s famously treacherous winter of 1963 - No Frost at Night features newly commissioned work by five East Anglian artists: filmmaker Simon Nunn, experimental photographer Mark Tamer, paper-worker Eleanor Wood, sculptor, printmaker and installation artist Amber Lawrence and Mari French, the painter whose atmospheric abstracts are shown here.
Already live online and showing in the gallery from May 17-30, the exhibition promises to give you goosebumps (in a good way).
Babylon Arts is at Waterside, Ely CB7 4AU. Visit babylonarts.org.uk for more.
