Event: Wavy Markets brings top indie traders to Bury St Edmunds
A chance to shop cool indie stalls then have a pint and an ice cream in a cute suntrap garden? Make a date for Wavy Markets
Known for bringing together “the coolest local small businesses, artists and independents, with good food, drinks and vibes to match”, Wavy Markets is back in Bury St Edmunds.
Returning to The Centre on St John’s Street for a full weekend - Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, September 1 - day one is dedicated to Arts & Makers (expect ceramics, prints, jewellery and edible artworks from Wood Row Chocolate and The Alabama Biscuit), while day two is all about Food & Home (think cakes, wine, bao buns, pizzas, unusual ingredients. . .).
Throughout the weekend, The Centre’s courtyard garden will be home to Artefact Brewing’s pop-up bar, with beers on draft, and Simply Ice Cream Suffolk’s scoop shop, serving both ice creams and sorbets.
Just a short walk from the town centre, the bus station and train station, the market is free to enter, dog and child-friendly and the venue is accessible for wheelchair users (though the garden isn’t).
* The market is open 10am-4pm on Saturday and 10am-3pm on Sunday.
Diary date: Can’t make the Bury dates? You can also catch Wavy Markets at Folk café, Fornham St Martin, on Sunday, September 15. Follow @wavymarkets on Instagram and Facebook for more information and updates.
