Christmas: City's virtual switch-on set to sparkle

In Cambridge, the ceremonial lights switch-on always cuts the ribbon on the festive season - and this year will be no different. Though the physical event, which usually attracts thousands to a live music stage in the market square, has been cancelled by Covid restrictions, Cambridge BID is throwing a virtual version.

On Sunday, November 15, Star Radio will broadcast all the usual entertainment, from classic Christmas tunes to performances from local acts, and the switch-on itself will be live streamed at 5pm. Says Star presenter Josh Lovatt: “I’m thrilled to bring the magic of the city’s lights being switched on into people’s homes safely this year. I’ve already opened up my second packet of mince pies in anticipation.”

Star Radio can be found at 100.7 FM. For more details visit love-cambridge.com
