Homes: Why we love Fulbourn's new floristry shop
Few things lift spirits as swiftly as a beautiful bouquet delivered to your door. And thanks to Augusta Hope, the floristry shop just opened on Fulbourn High Street, locals can now take out a subscription package.
Lockdown stalled the shop opening, but founders and friends Augusta (Gussie) Sneddon and Claire Raper found themselves busier than ever - with demand for both doorstep bouquets and nationwide deliveries rocketing.
“We had been in the middle of signing the lease when the UK went into lockdown, so had to set up our workshop in Claire’s home,” they explain. “We have actually been busier than ever over the last few months, dropping off doorstep bouquets and branching out into nationwide deliveries.
“We are thrilled to be opening our new shop, even during these unpredictable times. We feel that timing is right and our new location is just perfect!”
Gussie and Claire met while teaching floristry and, bonding over their shared love of creating luxurious displays for weddings and events, decided to team up - and Augusta Hope was the result.
Now offering a full wedding and event service both locally and further afield - as well as East Anglia, they cover London and the Home Counties - they also create arrangements for other occasions, from births to bereavements, and sell gift bouquets as well as flowers both arranged and by the stem to enjoy in your own home; the subscription service, which is tailored to each customer’s requirements, is the latest addition.
Augusta Hope is at 12 High Street, Fulbourn CB21 5DH. See augustahope.co.uk
