Gardens: Open-air exhibition set to inspire

Normally staged in November, the open-air International Garden Photographer of the Year exhibition has come early to Cambridge’s Botanic Garden. Running until August 25, it’s a chance to see the world’s best photography of gardens, flowers and foliage displayed on grand-scale boards beside the garden’s central Grass Maze.

Open to amateurs and professionals alike, the International Garden competition and culminating exhibition are backed by the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. Categories include The Beauty of Plants, Abstract Views and new addition Plants & Planet, which saw a proportion of entry fees donated to WeForest to fund tree planting.

With lockdown leaving us all thirsting for the great outdoors, it’s a timely celebration of nature’s many wonders.

Usual garden admission applies, currently by pre-booked ticket only. Go to botanic.cam.ac.uk/purchase-tickets/
