Fancy taking a day-trip to a French brocante without having to stray from home soil? That’s exactly the experience the Boule-in Spring Fête promises shoppers when it returns to Bildeston this month.

Running for five days, April 20 to 24, it’s a show and sale of decorative pieces through to bonafide antiques, all sourced directly from Provence by husband and wife Peter and Cathy Bullen.

The Bullens, who still spend five months of the year in their painstakingly restored French maison, previously lived in Provence for three years, during which time Cathy began honing her treasure-hunting skills at antique markets and brocantes, eventually filling a lorry to bring back home to Suffolk. The Boule-in subsequently launched in 2012 with a single tent on the lawn; 10 years on, it’s a destination shopping event which fills the Bullens’ outbuildings, garden and marquees at 77 High Street with authentic items, ranging from linens and basketry to porcelain and furniture.

Alongside the chic French wares, shoppers will find a range of homegrown home and garden brands, including The Rug & Carpet Studio, Martin’s Nursery and Helen Newman Flowers. Renowned pâtissière Abi Sarton will be offering cakes and hampers, to either eat onsite or take away, with Queen Bee Coffee providing drinks. Merveilleux!
