Event: Book now for Ely Cathedral’s summer Home & Garden Show
Ely Cathedral’s first summer Home & Garden Show takes place next week and, with tickets selling fast, now’s the time to book
Offering inspiration, shopping and the chance to learn new skills - from wildflower tablescaping to making pesto and lampshades - Ely Cathedral Home & Garden Show makes its debut this month.
Opening on the evening of Thursday, July 10 and running throughout Friday and Saturday, July 11 and 12, the event will see stalls, talks, displays and demos spread out across both the cathedral and its grounds.
Visitors will be able to browse and buy everything from garden plants, tools, furniture and accessories to a wide range of homeware, spanning soft furnishings, decor and kitchenalia, plus natural beauty products, clothing and artisanal food and drink.
They will also have access to a free programme of talks by experts, such as RHS award-winning garden designer Tim Jennings, and demonstrations too, including how to make wild garlic pesto, a drum lampshade and a tablescape from wildflowers.
The 12th century Bishop’s Garden, rarely open to the public, is hosting a collection of miniature display gardens specifically designed by up-and-coming landscapers. And, as flowers are such a significant part of an English summer, a series of large-scale floral installations will be on display around the cathedral’s interior.
Say the cathedral team: “With a great selection of artisan foods and refreshments on site, the Home & Garden Show promises to be a fabulous day out to enjoy with friends and family, in a beautiful setting, where the emphasis is on individuality, style and entertainment.”
