-When did Dentistry and More launch in Cambridge – and what makes your high-end private practice so unique?

Dentistry and More opened its doors in February 2023 and is both fully private and privately owned, allowing us to ensure that the treatment plans are created in the best interest of the patients. This also means that our wide range of treatments are administered by experienced clinicians who are passionate about their work.

At Dentistry and More, general dentistry is at the foundation of our practice. Our expert dentists offer a comprehensive range of essential dental services aimed at maintaining and improving your oral health. Whether you require a routine check-up or find yourself in need of emergency dental care, our dedicated team is here to assist every step of the way.

-What are some of the general and cosmetic dentistry services you specialise in?

Our general dentistry services are tailored to your specific needs and oral health goals. We take the time to understand your unique situation, explain procedures, answer questions, provide tailored treatment plans, and guide you through the process to ensure optimal results. We believe in empowering our patients through dental education. We want you to feel informed and confident in making decisions.

-Your Airflow system is a fantastic dental hygiene treatment using the latest technology, which, we hear, customers love! How does it work?

Airflow teeth cleaning uses a combination of pressured water, compressed air, and fine sodium bicarbonate. It is a powerful dental hygiene treatment that cleans and removes plaque and stains from your teeth left from smoking, food and drink. Airflow can remove stains from up to 5mm deep into the periodontal pockets as well as the surface of the tooth. It is the perfect teeth whitening treatment without direct contact, heat, or noise resulting in the ideal white smile. Airflow polishing is also great for anyone who suffers from sensitive teeth, due to the lack of direct contact and the absence of heat and vibration.

-Gum disease is an issue lots of us suffer with; what treatments can you offer for this problem?

We offer dental hygiene and periodontitis treatment carried out by a specialist periodontist. Treatments available are surgical and not surgical debridement, using state of the art equipment such as a laser. Most traditional gum treatments are predominantly centralised around the elimination of bacterial infection. The post-operative result of this type of therapy often involves gum recession, with its associated bone loss. The loss is irreversible and involves much aesthetic oral plastic surgery to correct. Laser surgery, on the other hand, eradicates these types of post-operative sub-standard aesthetic results. Areas treated with lasers eliminate the infection in such a way as to ‘sterilise’ the area being treated. Investing in periodontal treatment early on can save money in the long run. Treating gum disease promptly prevents the need for more extensive and costly procedures, such as tooth extractions, dental implants, or extensive restorations.

-Invisalign is another of your specialisms and is a fantastic way to create lovely straight teeth. What feedback do clients give you following Invisalign?

They like that you can eat and drink whatever you want, that Invisalign is comfortable and virtually invisible, oral hygiene is easier, you can remove your aligners and that it boosts confidence. It’s also popular because it prevents jaw strain and is just as effective as traditional metal braces.

-Dentistry and More also offer dental implants in titanium and zirconia – how transformative is this for clients?

Dental implants are a permanent and natural solution for replacing missing teeth. They consist of a titanium or zirconia post (implant fixture) that is surgically placed into the jawbone, providing a stable foundation. After a healing period, an abutment is attached to the fixture, and a custom-made replacement tooth is affixed to the abutment. Dental implants offer advantages such as improved stability, durability, and natural appearance. They also stimulate bone growth, maintaining the integrity of the jawbone, and give you confidence in your smile!
