PEACE OF MYND
Mindfulness is a powerful tool for managing stress and anxiety, but for some, it’s difficult to find the time and space to meditate away from busy family life and work commitments. That’s why Mynd – the creation of schoolteacher Andrew Swiney – is a stroke of genius. A bespoke mobile space, currently in Cambridge, Mynd offers a calm environment to take a pause and press the reset button. Qualified mindfulness teachers are on hand to guide short sessions, away from everyday distractions.
Andrew, who began practising mindfulness in 2012 to combat anxiety, launched short online meditation sessions for pupils during lockdown. This inspired the Mynd business concept.
Evidence suggests that mindfulness decreases stress, helps focus, boosts productivity and improves sleep. Book Mynd during its Cambridge residence via the website at mynd.uk
MOTHER KNOWS BEST
An entrepreneurial Cambridge mum has united with 68 writers from across the world to co-author a special book about the meaning of motherhood. Marketing director Charlotte Woods, who lives in Papworth Everard, responded to an appeal on social media by Angharad Davies, founder of The Positive Motherhood Project. Angharad was putting together a book, Meanings Over Milestones, in which mothers celebrate life’s true lessons, as opposed to academic achievement and career success. The advice is intended to help children and adolescents navigate the ups and downs, rather than be preoccupied with hitting milestones.
Charlotte’s inclusion focuses on ‘self care’, as she explains: “My story is written to my 4-year-old son Ethan. Having found the challenges of being a first-time mum overwhelming and never putting my own self-care first I wanted to write to my son and make him aware that putting himself first and working on himself as he grows is so important. We all want the best for our children and what better way to write to my son than a letter in a book."
The profits from the sale of Meanings Over Milestones will help fund grass roots projects tackling children’s emotional wellbeing.

LOVING OH LILY!
Delicious, health-boosting contents aside, can we take a minute to appreciate the divine packaging of these popped waterlily seed snacks by Oh Lily!?
The creation of sisters Dewi Cortier-Agrawal and Govinda Cortier, Oh Lily!’s exterior features playful, dynamic characters, with a chic French feel, whilst each gourmet flavour reflects the founders’ love for food, travel and holistic living. Think dark chocolate and coconut from the Malabar coast of southwest India (Keralan Snow) or paprika and Provençal herbs (French Riviera).
Oh Lily!’s snacks feature the ayurvedic super seed from the waterlily plant, popular in traditional Indian medicine owing to its powerful antioxidant levels, available in eight different sweet and savoury flavours.
“Next to epic taste, each flavour comes with a piece of wisdom, a lesson in mindfulness or a philosophy we’ve loved and picked up from somewhere in the world,” says Govinda. “And the best is they are super-healthy, all while tasting amazing. Our products are truly meant to nourish your mind, body, and soul.”
