Win: A box of Copper Crew wine - worth £50

It only launched in July, but Cambridge canned wine company The Copper Crew is already winning plaudits for its South African Rose, Chenin Blanc and Merlot - with the first two of the three taking Bronze at the Drinks Business Autumn Blind Taste awards just last month.

The brand was founded by friends and fellow entrepreneurs Theo Gough, Oli Purnell and Sam Lambson, the oenologist behind Minimalist Wines which, a sell-out when it debuted in London, was listed among Jancis Robinson’s ‘unofficial wines of the week’.

With advances in technology now allowing wine to be kept in perfect condition in a can, The Copper Crew’s packaging is significantly more planet-friendly than old-school bottles, explain the team, being swifter and easier to recycle and lighter and more ergonomic to transport.

Keeping their wines deliberately accessible, The Copper Crew’s on-can tasting notes are short and sweet: take the profile of the Rose, a pale, Provençal-style blend, distilled as “Strawberries. Cherries. Peppercorns”.

Available to buy via the Crew’s online shop and Click it Local, we’re toasting the brand’s success by giving away a 12-can mixed box of all three wines, worth £49.99. For your chance to win, simply email your name, address and daytime number to alice.ryan@velvetmag.co.uk, titling your message ‘The Copper Crew Competition’. Entries should arrive no later than December 18 and all entrants should be aged 18 or over. The usual Ts and Cs apply; if you are happy to be contacted by Iliffe Media and its partners, add ‘Please Contact’.
