Recipes: Top three booze-free cocktails for summer
Raise a glass to the August Bank Holiday - with a trio of cocktails full of flavour but free from booze, courtesy of Seedlip
Grove Strawberry Sour
Make your strawberry syrup in advance and keep it in the fridge.
You’ll need:
● 50ml Seedlip Grove 42
● 30ml pink grapefruit juice
● 20ml strawberry syrup
● 20ml aquafaba or 1 egg white
Equipment:
● Cocktail shaker
● Cocktail strainer or sieve
Method:
Strawberry Syrup:
1. In a bowl, cover 400g of strawberries in 200g of sugar
2. Cover the bowl & leave to sit for 3 hours
3. Strain the syrup and keep in fridge
4. Retain candied strawberries for garnish!
To mix:
1. Shake all ingredients without ice
2. Add ice and shake again
3. Strain into glass over large ice cube
Humble Root Mary with Seedlip Spice 94
The ideal Sunday brunch accompaniment; garnish your glass with a salt/cayenne mix on half of the rim.
You’ll need:
● 50ml Seedlip Spice 94
● 50ml carrot juice
● 1 pinch turmeric powder (or 1cm fresh turmeric)
● 20ml maple syrup
● 25ml lemon juice
● 1 abundant carrot top (yes, the green leaves!)
To mix:
1. Stir all ingredients over ice
2. Strain into a highball filled with ice
3. Garnish with carrot top tips
Green Garden Cooler
The perfect cocktail to use up any leftover or wilting herbs in the fridge.
You’ll need:
● 50ml Seedlip Garden 108
● Leftover fresh leaf herbs; you could use basil, mint, coriander, spinach
● 10ml apple cider vinegar
● 10ml lemon juice
● 25ml elderflower cordial
● Soda water
To mix:
1. Shake all ingredients except soda water together in a shaker
2. Strain into a highball glass
3. Top with soda and garnish with fresh herbs
