Opening: Dine out in style at Soham's CornerCopia

Part home and gift store, part cake and coffee shop, CornerCopia has added another string to its bow: alfresco drinking and dining spot The Terrace

Shaded by deckchair-stripe curtains during afternoon’s full sun and twinkling with overhead fairy lights from dusk to dark, The Terrace is the latest addition to CornerCopia Living in Soham. Set beside the pretty, pink-fronted lifestyle boutique - part home and gift store, part cake and coffee shop - it becomes a cocktail and tapas bar Thursday to Sunday, seating up to 20 people at any one time.

Featuring rum punch and French martini, the menu of classic cocktails is designed to pair with the tapas selection, which includes stonebaked flatbreads, Mediterranean dips and a wide range of cheeses. Hot and iced coffees and sweet and savoury bakes are also available week-round.

Launched in December 2021 and named after the period building’s distinctive curved corner doorway, CornerCopia Living grew out of founder Jack’s “passion for bringing just a little extra joy into people’s lives by hosting fabulous soirées and dressing events and homes as a hobby”.

Turning that hobby into a profession, he and his partner opened CornerCopia first as a home and gift store, “selling nothing you needed, but everything you wanted”, and then, from the spring of this year, adding the adjoining cafe space, named The Pink Room after its decor, to offer soft drinks, teas and local Silver Oak Coffee and Sapphire Cake Co. bakes.

Doubling in size in the space of six months and now with a team of seven employees, CornerCopia Living has been a hit with customers from both near and far, says Jack. “We’ve seen it grow from a shop to now a home-away-from-home for our customers. To see people’s faces light up as they meet an old friend, or indeed make a new one, is the greatest reward for our hard-working team.”

“Everything we do is driven by our wish to make life that little bit more enjoyable for our customers,” he adds. “Whether you need a gift for a friend, something to dress up a room that needs a little refresh, a coffee to kickstart your day or a cocktail to wash away the stresses of the week - we’re here to remind you just how life should be lived.”
