Billed as “a cacao-fuelled pitstop”, Hotel Chocolat has opened a new factory shop and cafe in St Neots. With the shop spanning two huge confectionery-filled rooms and the cafe serving everything from hot drinks to ice cream at tables both indoors and out, brand founder Angus Thirlwell says the new ”drive-to” destination is “part of our mission to bring happiness through chocolate”.

Just 20 minutes down the road from Hotel Chocolat’s Huntingdon factory, the shop and cafe share the brand’s distribution centre site at Alpha Drive, Eaton Socon.

In line with the brand’s ethos of “Mottainai” – a Japanese term advocating the elegance of creating as little waste as possible - the factory specials will include both end-of-season runs and misshapen chocolates. “Whilst crooked chocolates may not be as beautiful as some of their counterparts,” say the team, “they taste just as good!”
