Food: Tasty addition to city's plant-based menu
Billed as “rebellious street food”, VetoMeato is the new kid on Cambridge’s vegan block. A collaboration with city centre bar Ta Bouche, it’s just launched, despite the pandemic, to “celebrate the best food from the ground - vegetables, herbs, spices - through both inventive dishes and global classics” and challenge people to go meat-free, asking: “When’s your veto day?”
Serving at Ta Bouche’s Market Passage outdoor tables, and taking socially-distanced indoor covers, too, VetoMeato’s menu spans fragrant curries from Thailand and Laos and hearty bowls influenced by Middle Eastern favourites. “With restrictions on physical travel, diners can travel via with their taste buds,” adds the team. You’ll also find more health-conscious takes on fast-food, such as burgers and a kebab, and all main courses are priced at a flat £7.
