Food: Inside Cambridge's new plant-based grocery
Harvest Cambridge is a one-stop shop for good-for-you food, as Velvet discovers
With a background in grocery retail - he previously ran a convenience store in Hertfordshire - it was Tuncay Cicek’s personal passion for organic ingredients and plant-based dining which inspired him to open Harvest Cambridge, a one-stop shop for fresh produce, whole foods and store-cupboard staples, including home-roasted coffees.
Launching on the city’s Mill Road in December, Tuncay explains: “Since I moved to Cambridge, I have changed my lifestyle and begun consuming organic and plant-based food. I realised there was not enough supply of this kind of produce, so decided I would provide it!
“We are one of a kind because we are the only store in Cambridge with a wide range of organic, fresh, plastic-free fruit and veg. It makes us happy that our consumers are satisfied with our products.”
