Food: Ickworth's supper box is family favourite




Ickworth Hotel's supper box service is designed for all the family - and it sounds delicious. . .

Featuring tried-and-tested favourites, from luxury fish pie topped with saffron mash and lobster sauce, to butternut squash, chickpea and harissa tagine with cauliflower and preserved lemon couscous, the Family Supper Box from Ickworth Hotel is set to be a crowd-pleaser.

Devised by head chef Adrian Booth, each box, priced £35, contains a main course for a family of four with a weekly choice of two, posted on the hotel’s social media channels each Friday, for contactless collection. Ingeniously, the boxes include an activity pack for little ones, “leaving a rare quiet moment to enjoy a gin and tonic before supper”.

Championing seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, following in the footsteps of the hotel’s restaurant menu, the boxes are designed to kickstart the weekend, explains Faye Kelly, general manager. “We know how hard it is for families as they juggle homeschooling, working from home

and the worry that lockdown inevitable brings. We hope this service helps families a little bit and kicks start their weekend for them in a lovely way.”
