Food: Feeling festive? You need to head on down to The Northgate in Bury St Edmunds...
If you need a little help getting into the festive swing, The Northgate, Bury’s ever-elegant restaurant with rooms, is the place to go: the team are hosting a series of Christmas workshops this month and next, all guaranteed to get you humming carols.
On Saturday, November 30, Chippenham florist Augusta Hope is running two sessions: Festive Wreath Making & Afternoon Tea (£65), followed by Festive Wreath Making & Cocktails (£75). Tickets include all refreshments, materials and, of course, your finished wreath to take home.
Lettering artist and stationery designer Kirstie Bird is also holding two Modern Calligraphy sessions: Christmas Cocktails & Calligraphy: Christmas Cards on November 2 and workshop 2nd Nov and Christmas Cake & Calligraphy: Christmas Tags on December 7 (each £45). Aimed at beginners, so starting with an introduction to good technique and some nib knowledge, the classes include an essential calligraphy kit to use in the workshop and then take away.
