Drink: Sparkling wins awards for Saffron Grange

Congratulations to the team at Saffron Grange: the family-run vineyard, which only launched last year, has just won medals for two of its sparklers. With Saturday Kitchen’s Suzie Barry and Food & Drink’s Oz Clarke on the judging panel, the Classic Cuvee 2017 was given silver at the 2020 WineGB Awards, while the Pinot Noir Brut Rosé 2018 took bronze.

“We are absolutely blown away,” says Saffron Grange’s owner, Paul Edwards. “This is testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team to perfecting our wine-making techniques and delivering the highest quality wines. We are determined to put the Saffron Region on the map, as a leading producer of fine, quality English sparkling wines.”

Open weekdays, 10am to 4pm, for drop-ins and tours, Saffron Grange is at Rowley Hill Farm, Little Walden CB10 1UZ. The wines are available via the webshop at saffrongrange.com and at various local outlets, including The Gog in Cambridge and Provenance Kitchen in Whittlesford.
