Dining Out: BareBone BBQ pops up at Bicicletta

If you love barbecue, consider this a red alert: BareBone Smoke & Live Fire is coming to Saffron Walden *this week*

From cooking low and slow in his ‘ole hickory pit’ to hot and fast on open fire, Jack May is famed for his barbecuing skills - and he’s bringing them to Saffron Walden’s Bicicletta this month.

On September 5, Jack will host a BareBone Smoke & Live Fire pop-up, with two sittings, early and late, for a limited number of tables. Having cut his culinary teeth at The Cricketers, Clavering, run by Jamie Oliver’s parents, Jack’s love for meat led him to work at Jamie’s Barbacoa in central London before deciding to take to the street food scene with BareBone.

If you’ve not visited Bicicletta before, it’s a cycling cafe known for its seriously good coffee - made in a top-of-the-range La Marzocco machine, fed with beans from local supplier Coffee Officina - as well as cakes, brunch and lunch.
