Booking: Wild cooking and alfresco dining with Cambridge’s Foraging Chef
Forage for wild ingredients, see your meal cooked over fire, then eat it under the stars at Godmanchester’s Island Hall this July
A chance to take a guided foraging walk for wild ingredients and see them cooked outdoors over fire - to create a seven-course tasting menu, which you’ll then eat under the stars - Godmanchester’s Island Hall is hosting a one-of-a-kind culinary event this month.
A collaboration with Stephen Thompson, aka The Foraging Chef, ‘Join Me On The Island’ takes place on Sunday, July 14 from 5.30pm.
With tickets priced £135 and strictly limited to 30, the event is raising funds for Woodhurst’s Riding for the Disabled, currently celebrating 25 years. Run by a small group of volunteers, the charity offers weekly riding sessions for children from Spring Common Academy.
With dinner served in a two-hat tipi on the Hall’s eponymous island on The River Great Ouse, which flows through the Georgian mansion’s glorious grounds, there will also be live music and a themed drinks list, including The Foraging Chef’s Wild Herb Punch, Wild Pink Elderflower Lemonade and Botanical Herb Tea Infusion.
Island Hall is at Godmanchester PE29 2BA. Email enquire@islandhall.com to book and visit islandhall.com for more information.
