Style Awards: Royal milliner judges best dressed

Rosie Rubin’s hats have been seen on racecourses since her brand, Rosie Olivia, began back in 2011. Launching with a Prince’s Trust start-up grant, she’d trained at Central St Martins, interned with Philip Treacy and Stephen Jones and soon had her own reputation as a world-class milliner, with Zara Phillips, the Duchess of Cambridge and Princess Beatrice all on her client list.

Her spring/summer collection, showcased here, is ultimate Rosie Olivia: combining architectural shapes with exquisite details, her designs manage to be contemporary yet classic, too, and all are made with flattering the wearer uppermost in mind.

“People say they’re ‘not hat people’,” says Rosie. “I say they’ve just not found the right hat. . .”
