We can't believe it's almost a year since you won the Style Awards! How did it feel to win?

I know: I can’t believe it was a year ago nearly. . . I still can’t get my head round it, as I just love fashion and really enjoy choosing the outfits.

Remind us what you wore for your winning outfit?

I wore a black dress with white polka dots, accessorised with red Jimmy Choo heels, red Vivienne Westwood clutch, a red belt and a red hat with feather flowers.

When did you first enter the awards and what prompted you to get involved?

I’ve been going to Ladies’ Day for the last 13 years with my friends. We always get involved with the Style Awards - a lot of my friends have either won or come in the top 10, too! Since I started getting into millinery, it’s been great entering for my hats to be seen.

Are you making them all hats again this year?

Yeah, I’ve been rallying my friends already to sort their headwear out because I really want to try something different this year.

When it comes to your race-day outfits, where do you start? We're guessing - as a milliner - it's with the hat?

I start with the colourL what are the ‘in colours’ this year? The hat is actually the hardest thing to choose because, being a milliner, it needs to stand out.

Any top tips, style or comfort-wise, for creating a winning look?

Make sure your shoes are comfy - there’s nothing worse than your feet hurting. If you’re wanting to go in for the Style Awards, have a look back at the previous top 10 shortlists, as that gives you a really good idea of colours and styles that work.

As we all know, the Style Awards is back this year - and back to its pre-pandemic scale! Will you be entering? Any outfit spoilers to share?

Hopefully I’ll be entering, but I still haven’t got a clue what I’m wearing! Four dresses I’ve bought and I still really don’t know where to start, but my Ascot outfit is all sorted at least! I’m currently enjoying helping my friends sort their outfits and hats out.

What would you say to encourage other people to get dressed up and come along this July?

After a rubbish two to three years, this year is the year you really should go out with friends and dress up. It’s such a fun day out and you always make so many great memories. You never know: you could be the winner of best dressed, with the most amazing prizes. . .

Newmarket July Festival Ladies’ Day takes place on July 7. Tickets are booking now at thejockeyclub.co.uk/newmarket/events-tickets/.
