Shop designer labels while protecting both purse and planet: Flint’s Finds is another reason to visit rural retail destination Ben’s Yard

A chance to buy designer labels at affordable prices - safe in the knowledge you’re shopping sustainably, too - Flint’s Finds has popped up at Ben’s Yard for the run-up to Christmas. Sourcing vintage clothing and accessories from top brands, from Ralph Lauren and Barbour to Tommy Hilfiger and Stussy, founder Issy Flint says there’s something in store for everyone, with children’s, men’s and women’s clothing and accessories on the rails.

Before it reaches the shop floor, every piece is cleaned and repaired, with anything too damaged being repurposed - think bucket hats made from Ralph Lauren shirts. Starting the business as a university hobby, Issy has grown Flint’s Finds into both a permanent store, at Thornham’s Drove Orchards, and rolling seasonal pop-ups, like the one at Ben’s Yard.

“My customers range from a two-month-old baby to a 90-year-old gentleman,” she says. “It is very heartening seeing how many people are getting into the idea of secondhand clothing and trying to reduce fast fashion and its negative effect.”
