Fashion: Five must-have pieces for the season ahead
Inspired by their shared passion for Parisian-style fashion, Ozzie & Clementine is a new online boutique founded by Cambridge-based friends Sophie Bedford and Emily Pugh. Here, they select their must-have pieces for the season ahead
The gilet has become a wardrobe hero over the last couple of winters. We always feature them as they are such a useful piece to wear, both keeping you warm and adding colour and texture to your outfit. We have fallen in love with this Libra gilet from Parisian brand Louise Misha. With a quilted cotton and floral pattern on one side and cosy fur on the other, it’s reversible, making it brilliantly versatile, and gives off wonderful Russian folk vibes. Wear it over your dresses, over a jumpsuit or a blouse or over our Saresta polo neck, as pictured.
Libra Gilet, 100% cotton, £150
We have expanded our collection of accessories this season to include some beautiful shoulder bags, leather banana bags and belts. This new Serion black leather bag is by far our favourite style. A simple mini crossbody with a very pretty gold chain from Parisian brand Petite Mendigote, it will instantly add chic to your winter outfits whether you decide to wear it for day or night. Inspired by Chanel, we think this little black bag really packs a punch and it is just the right size to carry all your essentials. It would also make a very nice gift.
Classic Little Black Bag, 100% leather, £85
A royal blue mini with gold detailing from our newest French brand Louizon, this Afterlife dress is a signature style and we think it’s the ideal dress to go out in this season. The design is simple yet flattering; we love the cross-over neckline, the 40s-inspired shoulder pads and the pretty lurex belt detail, all of which add a real touch of glamour. The material is light and floaty and drapes really well. If you’d rather not show your legs, the dress also comes in a longer version. We’d style it with a pair of high boots or metallic heels and gold jewellery.
Afterlife Blue Dress, 100% viscose, £130
Denim is big this season and we have found a brand that marries feminine style and denim to perfection. Seventy + Mochi delivers beautiful pieces made from softest organic cotton and this Lorna jumpsuit is our hero. It comes in dark denim and this delicious new shade of clotted cream and - easy to wear, affordable and hugely comfortable - if you’ve never owned a jumpsuit this is the one to buy. We love all the little details, including the puff shoulder and elasticated waistline. Wear for daytime with trainers and a knitted gilet or in the evening with ankle boots and a blazer.
Lorna Jumpsuit, 100% certified organic cotton, £140
It is finally knitwear season and there’s nothing we love more than a luxury knit to wear when the temperatures start to dip. This new Mayden jumper from Parisian brand Petite Mendigote combines style and leopard print - always a wardrobe classic. The design is super-flattering: it has elegant balloon sleeves and a very chic deep v in the back. Very easy to wear for work or play, we recommend styling it with denim or a pair of structured cords. It would also look great with brown or black leather trousers or even an A-line skirt.
The Mayden Jumper, 40% nylon/32% mohair/28% wool, £150
