Fashion: Cambridge’s new-look Lucy & Yak store opens today!
Cambridge’s Lucy & Yak store cuts the ribbon on its new – much bigger! – site on Sussex Street today
There are plenty of reasons to love conscious fashion label Lucy & Yak. Not only are its clothes cool, colourful and seriously comfortable, they’re also made solely from organic, natural, recycled or deadstock fabrics and are eligible for the brand’s PreLoved buy-back scheme.
Since opening the doors of its pretty pink-painted store on Green Street in 2023, the indie British business has proved such a hit with Cambridge shoppers it has outgrown the space - so is moving to a larger site, over on Sussex Street, this month.
Opening today (March 14), the new shop will not only have more rail space, to showcase new as well as core collections, but also have six changing rooms, one of them accessible. As you’d expect, the decor will be joyful, pairing bright paintwork with wood furnishings.
Says brand co-founder Lucy Greenwood: “We’ve loved meeting our community in Cambridge so far and can’t wait to welcome them into the new shop. With more space we plan to relaunch our events programme to include our Re:Yak workshops - inspiring new ways to mend and repair, to help keep our clothes in circulation for longer. There’s lots to come and we can’t wait to share more details soon.”
Lucy & Yak is at 13 Sussex Street, Cambridge and lucyandyak.com
