Beauty: It's time to get your glow back. . .

Stress, sleepless nights, too little fresh air. . . If lockdown has left you looking and feeling lacklustre, it’s time to get your glow back. Alice Ryan compiles a radiance toolkit

Filorga Oxygen-Glow Cream, £37, lookfantastic.com

Like all products developed by Filorga, the French aesthetic medicine lab, this cream means business. It delivers both on-the-spot radiance (via light-refracting Photoperfector HD technology) and behind-the-scenes support (the Super-Skin complex, loaded with L-enzyme and hyaluronic acid to even tone and texture). Take it from a dry-skinned insomniac: it’s transformative.

Soleil Toujours Perpetual Radiance Eye Glow + Illuminator SPF15, £70, spacenk.com

Owner of dry, dark and crepey under-bags, I’ve spent the last decade hunting for the eye cream Holy Grail: ie an eye cream that actually *does* something. I’ve discovered some belters along the way (Sisley’s Black Rose is brilliant), but this Perpetual Radiance formula could be the best yet. Organic jojoba and sunflower seed oils smooth and soothe, while shimmering mica bounces the light, instantly brightening. Plus it contains mineral SPF, so it’s protective, too.

Stila Complete Harmony Lip & Cheek Stick, £19, stila.co.uk

Seriously creamy - yet non-sticky and lightweight: tick, tick - Stila’s new-formula lip and cheek stick literally melts onto skin, giving a brilliantly natural-looking flush of colour. I trialled it prior to a Zoom meeting and was told - twice - how well I looked. Blended with skin-cosseting babassu oil and vitamin E, it comes in four colours, including the summery coral Gerbera, pictured, as well as highlighter and bronzer.

Stila Beauty Boss Lip Gloss, £14, stila.co.uk

As regular readers of these pages will know, when it comes to lip gloss, I think Stila’s Beauty Boss is pretty unbeatable. It delivers comfort (the plush gel base is enriched with aloe), volume (in the form of hyaluronic filling spheres) and supreme shine (thanks to iridescent pearl), all in the swish of a wand. Six new shades have been introduced for SS20, including Watercooler, this glowy golden peach.

Hourglass Scattered Light Glitter Eyeshadow, £28, johnlewis.com

This is glitter eyeshadow for grown-ups. A weightless suspension of multifaceted pearl particles, the cream formula slides swiftly and smoothly onto lids and is supremely buildable, so you can go for either subtle shimmer (ideal for summer days) or full-on prismatic glam (for summer nights). There are nine shades to choose from. I’d recommend the russet-gold Rapture - it’s warming and really brings out blue eyes.

Urban Decay Moondust Lip Eclipse, £19, urbandecay.co.uk

Creamy like a lipstick and nourishing like a balm - it’s blended with shea and cocoa butters, jojoba and avocado oils - Moondust is aptly named: containing both super-fine glitter and pearlescent shimmer, it delivers starry sky levels of twinkle. It comes in four colours, including glowy Rising, a suits-all shade of rose gold.

Beauty Pie Pro-Glow Superstrobing Drops, members’ price £8.46 (RRP £28), beautypie.com

Even the pastiest pallor can be restored to radiance by this little bottle. Add a couple of Superstrobing Drops to your foundation for a soft all-over glow, or apply neat with a fingertip to high points - cheekbones, nose, chin - to spotlight and sculpt. Thanks to pearly pigments, it’s the skincare equivalent of turning on the lights.
