Ad: Plan a dream Big Day at Cambridge Wedding Fair

Cambridge Spring Wedding Fair at University Arms hotel will provide plenty of Big Day inspiration thanks to a host of premium Grand Arcade retailers and beautiful boutique Burr Bridal

From finding the dress of your dreams to selecting the idyllic honeymoon destination, planning a wedding can be exciting and daunting in equal measure. So, why not let the experts do the hard work, so you can focus on the fun stuff, like choosing dainty favours or tasting the multi-tiered cake? Get lots of ideas for the perfect day, all under one roof, at Cambridge’s first Spring Wedding Fair.

A collaboration between Grand Arcade shopping centre; prestigious venue, University Arms, Cambridge; and King Street boutique Burr Bridal, the sensational showcase takes place on Sunday, May 15.

Whether you’re the bride or groom-to-be, wedding guest or proud parent, there’ll be an abundance of exciting offerings from 25 brands, plus a wide range of hand-picked local and specialised wedding suppliers, including florists, event planners, jewellers and hair stylists.

Grand Arcade’s retailers will be lending their expert knowhow and showcasing their signatures to help construct wow-factor outfits and achieve striking make-up and hair styles, plus eye-catching decorations.

Dressing for a wedding should be a joyful and memorable moment, no matter your role on the day, and Hobbs, John Lewis, Charles Tyrwhitt and Gant will be on hand to guide you in this season’s style stakes.

Beauty and style experts from the John Lewis’ Beauty Hall and Seanhanna hair salon will also be joining the fair to share their expert advice and demonstrations.

And why not enjoy the opportunity to get a fragrance profiling session for two with Penhaligon’s, plan your wedding gift list with The White Company, or book your heavenly honeymoon with Kuoni?

“We are delighted to be partnering with our neighbours, the University Arms hotel, and the bridal expert Burr Bridal, to present the first Cambridge Spring Wedding Fair,” says Julie Kervadec, Marketing Manager at Grand Arcade. “A selection of our most iconic brands will be present with everything you need for the Big Day.”

A highlight of the fair will be the dazzling wedding catwalk, where you can see styles for 2022/23 brides, grooms and wedding guests - including outfits, accessories and hats - brought to life in spectacular fashion. This will include an array of exquisite designer wedding dresses and on-trend outfits from Burr Bridal, Cambridge.

“We stock some of the most desired wedding dress designers and hold every option of style to help every bride find the dress of her dreams, plus a huge selection of accessories,” says Burr Bridal founder, Kim Burr. “Our occasion wear department caters for mother of the bride, including hats, fascinators and hatinators, plus the Stag room offers suit hire for our grooms and his groomsmen too.”

The inaugural event takes place in the magnificent ballroom of the University Arms, which boasts floor to ceiling, stained glass windows, overlooking Parker’s Piece.

Cambridge’s oldest hotel, it first welcomed guests in 1834, and has been a destination for weddings and celebrations for more than 175 years. It recently underwent a stunning £80million transformation, is fully licenced and can host weddings from 50 up to 150 guests.

Irene Garrote, Wedding and Special Events Executive, says: “We at University Arms are honoured to have been the venue for many weddings over the years. Helping play a small part in the happiness of our couples is a truly unique and special experience, and one we always treasure. I am truly excited to host the Cambridge Spring Wedding Fair, and introduce University Arms.”

The Cambridge Spring Wedding Fair takes place May 15, 11am – 3pm, at the University Arms Ballroom. Entry is free and the wedding catwalk show starts at 12noon. Find out more at
