Twinkling Delights
With our own Christmas work’s do just around the corner, visiting other people’s can go either way… either you regret not booking it at the same venue or you’re glad you’re going elsewhere.
Unfortunately for us, it was the first. As our Marketing Executive Rachel Preston and myself walked into the grand entrance of the Millennium Stand at Newmarket’s Rowley Mile Racecourse we couldn’t help but stare in awe at the vast array of twinkling lights and tasteful decorations.
Greeted by one of the immaculately dressed waiters, we were whisked upstairs to the wonderful burlesque-themed top balcony.
Barely recognisable from previous visits, Rachel and I couldn’t help but stare as we tried to take it all in.
From the perfectly formed Moulin Rouge stage setting to the table decoration and seating, everything looked completely immaculate… and that was before we tasted the food.
Sitting amongst a stream of professionals, we couldn’t wait to tuck in as our first course was served.
The ham hock terrine was literally out of this world – Rachel is STILL talking about it.
Tucking into our second and third courses, it was literally like Christmas had arrived early.
As our plates were cleared, the second performance started by the enormously talented burlesque singer… we just didn’t want the evening to end.
With so much effort, talent and taste piled in to one evening it was easy to see why so many people had chosen the racecourse as their venue of choice this Christmas.
Although it may be a little too late to change your mind this year, make sure you consider the racecourse as your Christmas party venture next year!
