Tonight is the Night
Tonight is the night! Velvet’s first ever Awards evening… the nerves are starting to circulate the office. Will they all turn up, will they have a good time, so many questions.
This week seems to have flown by in one dazed blur as the entire team got stuck in to make sure tonight runs as smoothly as possible.
With 250 goody bags to stuff, 250 stickers to stick, 250 names to list on the guest list, 36 awards to polish and 18 cue cards to check we knew it was never going to be an easy ride, but we will certainly breathe a collective sigh of relief at the end of the evening.
Of course it’s not ALL nerves – we’re looking for to it like none other Velvet outing before.

The venue looks absolutely delicious; it is literally the only way to describe it.
Caked out in Cadbury’s purple and Turkish Delight pink the entire location transformed Cubiqdesign and Velvet Magazine into a real life room – hurry up 7pm!
It’s not been ALL about the Awards this week though. Monday saw the team recuperate after a heavy night out on the tiles on Saturday in aid of Tommy’s birthday and Dan’s farewell, as we all prepared for the week ahead.
Wednesday saw Georgie visit Pure Beauty in Newmarket ahead of their new salon opening late next month, before she whizzed over to Bren Pauls in Newmarket to sample a slice of heaven with the latest Geleration manicure treatment.
Sitting down with manicurist Debbie, she could hardly believe her luck as she was filed and polished into shape. Lasting a minimum of two weeks it really is amazing!
Yet that’s not all. The troublesome two, Tom and Georgie, also enjoyed an evening out at The Cock in Little Thurlow.
Dining with a difference the two joined in the restaurant’s Supper Club for an evening, which could not have been more fun.
Sitting alongside 16 other diners, they enjoyed a three course meal with fascinating conversation and an all together great evening out. If you’re looking for something new next month, make sure you check out the review in September’s issue. Trust us it’s amazing!
So now with little else to do than sit and wait until the evening begins, we bid you farewell dear reader.
Oh and don’t forget to say Happy Birthday to the real MR COOL, Eugene Hector, if you see him next week! Although he may be enjoyed a well-deserved break in Ibiza this week, we’re all thinking of him! xx
