Vila Clothes
I’ve just discovered a brilliant Scandinavian brand called VILA, which is available at Javelin in Bury St Edmunds. The brand is definitely one to look out for if you want to pick up some stylish, modern and affordable pieces for your autumn/winter wardrobe. I really like the pieces I’ve seen so from the new collection, especially this ‘Ghost’ dress, which is a fantastic transitional piece for autumn. This stylish black and white nautical dress is available from Javelin, Bury St Edmunds for £34.90.
Accessories
Rings really are the rage at the moment. My favourite store for jewellery is The Corner Cupboard in Saffron Walden. I’ve had a few presents from there including a gorgeous bracelet and my newest addition post-exams, a sterling silver ring. The shop sells a great selection of sterling silver rings in different designs, specifically matching the trend at the moment where rings are large or run right up the finger.
Cambridge Fashion Week 27th September - 1st October
September will see the first ever Cambridge Fashion Week, featuring local designers, brands and models. It will also incorporate charity fashion shows, at both Anglia Ruskin and by a team called ‘Young Lives’ which is part of the V Involved programme. The shows will be spread across Cambridge, and will be a platform for local talent. Keep your eyes peeled!
Photography by Rachel Abraham
I recently fell in love with the work of a local aspiring fashion photographer named Rachel Abraham. At
just 19 she’s put together some beautiful shoots, focusing on a variety of concepts, each as inspiring as
the last. The other thing I love about Rachel’s work is that it features local models, and often local
locations which we can all recognise. She’s one to watch out for!

Fashion Blog of the Month
This month I’m focusing on my absolute favourite inspiration, the ‘I’ve Got A Lust For Life’ blog by the fabulous Olivia Lo. She’s a model, blogger and dancer which leads to very exciting, aesthetically pleasing posts. She seems to be one of the ‘it’ girls of her local area, as she’s always posting about the wonderful events she’s attending, from brand events and store openings to photo shoots and fashion shows. She’s currently interning at Unif/Play Me Jeans and represents brands such as Gas’D and Revolve, suggesting she really is one to look out for on the future fashion scene! Her personal style and talent in photography is something that immediately draws me in. If a blog can be described as ‘beautiful’ than this definitely fits the bill. Oh, and did I mention, she’s only 17!
