Speaker Box

DJ Push picks this month’s hottest party tunes
Yo people DJ Push is back at it again. Take your pick as I explore a massive selection of tracks that span from electro pop to supa blazing hip-hop. In this month's Speaker Box I have picked a couple of personal favourites from artists Wiley, Kanye West and your boy Drizzy Drake. If you wanna see me spin some of these tunes live, catch me every Monday at La Raza's Boom Boom Room 9pm – 1am. Remember, if you would like to hit me up for mixes, requests or bookings email: djpush@live.co.uk
Drake ft. T.I. & Swizz Beatz - Fancy
I had to put this one in the mix. It’s all about your boy Drizzy Drake. This time he goes in hard with American super producer Swizz Beatz. Everything that Swizz Beatz touches is a delight and this is no exception. T.I .also drops a few lyrical bars to show that he can stand up with today's rap climate. When getting ready to hit the summer BBQ play this one in the background and I'll guarantee that your swagger will transform into supa dupa mode. Big thumbs up to this one.
David Guetta & Chris Willis ft Fergie & LMFAO - Gettin' Over You
I’m defo getting use to this pop ting!!!! It seems that the pop scene is filled with MASSIVE bangers that mix electro bass lines and skippy beats. This tune is no exception as it intertwines MASSIVE basslines and swinging drums that will have you wilding out in the clubs. It’s all about the electro pop scene this summer. If England doesn't win the World Cup I’m sure electro pop will keep our spirits high. When you next go on a night out tell the DJ to pop this one in and watch the dance floor erupt big style.
Kanye West Ft. Dwele - Power
Kanyezzy you've done it again. After all his auto tune antics in 2008 - 2009 I didn’t think that Kanye had it in him to bless the masses with rap power lyrics. But once again Kanye has proved public opinion wrong. Check this tune out and you'll see that Kanye hasn't lost any of his skills. He is still a supa dupa rapper and a gifted producer. I wouldn’t say this is a massive club joint, but is defo one to slip in your MP3 player. If you wanna get down to classic sounding Kanye West I suggest you get fully involved in this track.
Nas & Damian Marley - As we enter
Biiiiiiiiiiiiig tune! Mixing Hip-Hop and Reggae perfectly these two legendary greats take a super leap to create a mix of music that takes no prisoners. Perfect production on this track allows these two amazing lyricists to rhyme seemingly effortlessly over this universal beat concoction. If you haven’t heard this tune I suggest you get your downloading fingers out and buy this on the internet. It’s great to see Nas doing his thing again. Massive thumbs up.
Wiley ft J2k and Jodie Connor - Electric boogaloo
I’m not major hot on UK pop music but I was watching Eastenders recently (not a regular thing I must add), heard this playing in the background and was like 'hang on a second that is a Tuuuuuuuuunnnne!!!' Wiley has done it again for the pop masses with this tune featuring J2K and Jodie Connor. This is a massive tune to skank out to over the summer. Blessed with bubbling bass lines, housey drum patterns and clubby lyrics, this tune is gonna be a massive hit.
