New Faces Within the Velvet Team
With less than a month until the Velvet Awards evening, this week could not have been a better time for our new PR and Marketing Executive Rachel Preston to start!
Like an angel she floated in and sprinkled us with calm, taking charge of the ever increasing invite list, venue details and those all important goody bag treats – wait until you see them. Amazing.com!
Instantly fitting in with the Velvet/Cubiqdesign vibe it already feels like she’s part of the team.
Once the excitement of ‘new meat’ settled down we got back to work, visiting numerous businesses across Cambridgeshire and Suffolk to build the wonderful magazine that is Velvet.

Georgie ventured over to the wonderful world of Bespoke Nannys to find out even more about the heartfelt business and all that goes on behind it, whilst the design team continued to work on our gorgeous 50th issue back in the office.
Our wonderful team of work experience lovelies have been a godsend this week with so much going on in and around the office.
Sophie Barnes, who has just finished a degree in graphic design, has been helping the Cubiq team out with her amazing design skills, while Rhiannon has stayed on yet another week in the editorial department.
With the Velvet Awards still running in the background of all that we have been doing this week, we can’t stress enough how important it is that you vote to see your
favourite businesses crowned champion of their section in a month’s time.
The days left are literally dwindling down so do it now!
Outside of the office the team carried on their never-ending exercise regimes. We honestly never stop – model employees don’t you know!
Tom continued to pound the streets of Newmarket each and every morning (yes he’s THAT guy that you see every morning!) while John enjoyed a morning swim at the Bedford Lodge and Georgie continued with her Liberté Fitness classes.
If you haven’t already tried Liberté Fitness, you’re missing out! We honestly can’t recommend it enough! It certainly gets the seal of Velvet approval!
