New Era for Velvet
This week marked a new era in Velvet’s history.
We feel like there should have been music playing, fireworks popping and even the appearance of a medal – as we began the difficult task of events organising!
Yes – a Velvet Party!
In true Velvet style, the party is not just any excuse for a social get-together but a celebration of everything local, from the restaurants to the fashion boutiques and customer service providers.
We now feel it’s time to step up a gear and really champion our wonderful regional businesses.
Every year we hold the Velvet Awards in which you, our lovely readers and followers, vote for your favourite businesses to crown them ‘first’ in their relevant category – but this year we are going to do it in STYLE.
This week welcomed the first brainstorming session as we all banged our heads together to shortlist the best local venue and entertainment ideas – make sure you watch this space for more Awards Evening news!
With all the excitement floating around the office the Friday feeling lasted from the word go on Monday - and the arrival of our gorgeous July issue only heightened it.
Our cars were piled high as each member disappeared on their predetermined routes, delivering a little bit of summer loving to our local restaurants, salons and fashion boutiques.
The issue marked the first announcement of all nominees in this year’s awards, so if you haven’t already, vote!
Not only will you support many of your favourite local businesses but you will automatically be entered into our competition to win £2000 worth of prizes!
Outside of work the good feeling carried on, as “Designer Lover’ Dan celebrated his 25th birthday this week!
The fresh-faced ‘teenie bopper’ certainly enjoyed his day taking the day off to spend some quality time in the sun, while the rest of the team partied on his behalf in the office.
