Fun Times and Goodbyes
Fun times were had by all this week, as we embarked on the busiest week of the year to date!
Not only did we manage to fit in endless numbers of meetings, sales calls and designing, the editorial team managed to visit half the stores in Newmarket and Cambridge… or so it seemed!
The week began as Tom and Georgie visited Newmarket’s newest children’s wear boutique to be dazzled and amazed at the gorgeous clothes inside. The entire shop seemed set up to please the children of Newmarket – colouring pens and all!
Back to the office for what seemed like moments, Lucinda and Georgie turned on their heels to visit The Jockey Club Rooms.
Rarely open to the public, the town’s historic charm welcomed the two in to view its many hidden delights.
Wednesday saw the team host an in house photo shoot, transforming our photography room into a catwalk of style and sophistication.
Our wonderful make-up artist, Charlotte Carrington, professionally took charge, finishing each outfit with a lick of paint, while models Amy and Will struck the pose in front of the camera. To view more of Charlotte's work please visit www.wix.com/charlottemakeup/stylist!
Friday (today) has been the busiest day in the history of Velvet (for as long as we can remember anyway!)
Dan and Jess continued designing the wonderful publication that is our Velvet Magazine, as the ever-nearing deadline loomed, while Fiona and Lucinda gathered all the last minute customer information.
Georgie spent an entire morning trapesing from appointment to another meeting the brilliant Simon Purchase from Supremebeing, Jane from Royal Selangor and Willow from Willow Hair Consultants.
But it’s not been all about the magazine this month, oh no!
Tuesday saw the second stint of our ‘Come Dine With Me’ evenings, as Georgie cooked up a delightful cheesecake. (We’ll say no more about the other course!)
The girls popped along to Liberte Fitness’ new classes in Newmarket for another night of fun.
And… we had to say a very tearful goodbye to one of the best team members Velvet has ever had… Fiona Christodoulides.
Wishing her ‘rat’ face the best of luck – but we all know she’ll be back for some more Liberte Fitness fun, a good meal out and all the team building activities we can possibly find!
