Facial Rejuvenation? Yes please!
Gemma Treby visits Cathedral Dental in Bury St Edmunds for a shot of Botox
There is nothing like a ‘reunion’, or maybe even a selection of your favourite songs put together in the latest ‘old skool classics’ compilation, to make you feel grown up.
Since when was ‘Dreamer’ by Livin Joy classed as Old Skool? I though Old Skool was Frank Sinatra!
And as for the reunion, that was my old best mate’s wedding up north with lots of friends I hadn’t seen for 15 years.
I’m hoping the girls who were at the wedding won’t be reading this, but, looking back at the photos, we all look a little tired. However, just in case they are, we look so much classier!

My fashion sense has improved, along with my tolerance to drink, but what about those tired eyes?
I remembered at my own wedding, dabbling in Botox (when I didn’t really need it) and being subtly impressed with the smooth results and vibrancy it gave my complexion.
So once I felt I actually needed the stuff, I headed down to Cathedral Dental in Bury St Edmunds, a trendy, private practice offering general dentistry alongside a host of other dental and facial cosmetic procedures.
Generally I don’t like dentists: sorry but who does? However Dr Singh immediately put me at ease by his very nature.
Preferring me to call him by his first name, Indy, I found him energetic and fun, and very different from traditional dentists!
Indy explained, “Treatment with Botox is a highly popular method of softening facial expression lines and making the face look refreshed.
“Every time we frown, squint or smile, the skin is creased in the areas of greatest use. The more expressive you are, the deeper the lines become. As we age, collagen production slows down and the problem accelerates as we are less able to repair the damage.”
Cathedral Dental adopts a consultative approach, firstly gaining an understanding of what my concerns are and what kind of ‘look’ I was hoping to achieve.
Surprisingly, the procedure is undertaken over two visits. Indy told me, “I prefer to inject a small amount of the product on the first visit; it gives the opportunity to then work forward on the next visit, ensuring a prefect result for the patient.”
The procedure doesn’t hurt, and I’m very pleased with the results. The huge line in-between my eyebrows has disappeared, and I’m looking rather refreshed and lifted in all the right places.
I am so pleased with my experience at the practice that I’m considering a cosmetic dental treatment. Watch this space!
