Brainstorming and Dog Walking

After our fantastic week last week, the last few days have been a never-ending stint to get June’s issue packed and ready for the printers.

Monday saw a mad rush as we raced to the finish line, finalising editorials, artwork and designs before the ‘Big Read’ commenced.

The entire team sat down to look over the entire magazine as last checks were made and updated.

Gemma and Tom enjoyed a last minute restaurant outing at The White Pheasant in Fordham.

Much to their delight the food was absolute delicious, with new manager Charlie Ross talking them through each dishes and it’s local origins.

But, as is the Velvet way, when one magazine has been whisked away it’s straight onto the next.

Tuesday welcome the monthly editorial meeting, as Gemma and Georgie discussed possible ideas for the magazine – this month welcoming our work experience lovely, Nicola, into the mix.

Together the three have come up with some exciting ideas – so watch this space for more exciting news on July’s issue.

But that’s not all we’ve been doing this week – oh no! June will see the return of our annual Summer Guide, the definitive directory on where to eat, sleep, drink and relax in our local area.

The entire team turned their attention to this wonderful publication, as the editorial team completed the listings, sales worked on copy and the design team began to pull the publication together.

Outside of the office we’re all looking forward to yet another long weekend break.

Georgie has ventured off for a long weekend in Spain, while Lucinda plans to enjoy long luxurious walks in Bury St Edmunds with her hubby Tim and two dogs, Nigel and Jeff.

It’s a hard life… x
