Beautiful Belles and Beaus
Venturing out into the midst of Bury St Edmunds one December evening it was as though Christmas had arrived early.
Decked in twinkling lights, festive decorations and the occasional glimpse of the town’s ‘lost elves’, my guest and I couldn’t help but feel a little merry.
Attending the launch night of Bury St Edmunds’ newest womenswear boutique, Belles and Beaus, we already knew we were in for a treat.
Stocking some of the most exquisite brands found locally, including Rare, Danity, Vera & Lucy and Love, rumour of the boutiques opening had already caused a stir amongst the town’s fashionistas.
Launched by fashion-lovers Jayde Chorlton, 22, and Kym Smith, 21, Belles and Beaus resembles everything a girl needs ahead of the party season.
Walking in to the boutique on Bury’s respectable Langton Place, we could barely fit through the door!
Hordes of girls stood chatting inside handling the gorgeous frocks lining the shelves as we tried to squeeze in.
It was as though we had walked into every girls dream walk-in wardrobe – absolutely bliss!
Sparkly dresses, stylish separates and all the necessary accessories lay in wait for us as Jayde and Kym stood in the middle of it all.
Both originally from the Bury St Edmunds area, it was clear to see they were both well aware of a gap in the fashion market and were determined to see it filled by their own brand.
Opening the shop was by no means an easy feat, as finding the suitable location was key to making the business work.
“It was hard to make sure we chose a wide enough selection of styles so as to attract all,” laughed Kym. “We’d love to fill the shop with the clothes we love, but we can’t be selfish!”
With so much to offer our local fashionistas, we’re sure that Belles and Beaus will have great success in 2012.
