Aquatic Trends

As the dull, dark days continue, what better way to keep our style conscious minds alive than to fantasise about the sea, sand and silver lined garments of next season?

The aquatic theme has pervaded the air of all major fashion shows and the high tide will no doubt extend itself to the high street in the most exciting of ways next season.

King Karl of high fashion brand Chanel set the scenic surroundings of Paris fashion week.

The show was awash with oversized white painted coral, shells and starfish virtually swimming along the catwalk, with Givenchy, Alexander McQueen and Ralph Lauren also reflecting the aquatic themes.

But in what ways can our stylish shoppers take the underwater trend from the high street?

Metallic is a theme that transcends seasons and styles and

on the right pieces of clothing can act as the perfect wardrobe style to take your outfit from day to night.

Jackets specifically are a chic, sharp way of taking on the trend with an array of versions already available on the high street.

Aquamarine tones will be this season’s hottest colour and will no doubt hit the high street in weeks to come.

The colour, that has been seen detailing pretty dresses at Louis Vuitton, can be worn in a similar, subtle way, but also, if you're brave enough, and want to be bold, worn in block colour from t-shirts to midi skirts.

Pearls are perhaps the most feminine and easy way to take on the trend.

Who doesn't have a string of them in an old jewellery box somewhere or under the stairs in some stuffing?

And if you can shine them up and fix a fastening, you'll be astounded as to how versatile the pretty little gems can be.

Seen on the catwalk as hair accessories, buttons and even making up whole sections of clothing, the small jewel is a making a big statement, and is one everyone should include in their new season wardrobe.
