We have some news!
“Cubiqdesign launched Velvet Magazine nearly 10 years ago, and since then it has become a much-loved local publication across both Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. Three years ago Cubiqdesign then launched iQ Magazine – a business title that has gone from strength-to-strength, and one that serves to highlight the incredible businesses and people we have in our region. In those years, Cubiqdesign has grown to become a top 10 design and marketing agency, attracting a loyal following of local, national and international clients. Our core business involves design, branding, print, digital, contract publishing, web development as well as PR and marketing strategy,” said Gemma Treby.
John Treby, Managing Director of Cubiqdesign, said, “With the continued growth of our agency, the acquisition by Iliffe Media will allow us to focus on our core services, including brand, advertising, marketing and PR. Ensuring Velvet and iQ found a new home to expand and be nurtured was key for us and we know Iliffe Media is the right place to take these publications forward.”
Iliffe Media was established 120 years ago, and is the name behind many local titles, including the Cambridge Independent, Bury Free Press and Newmarket Journal. They aim to keep Velvet Magazine and iQ Magazine true to themselves, therefore our readers, contributors and advertisers will not see no major changes to the publications in the near future. Cubiqdesign and Iliffe Media will continue to work together and maintain a joint interest in the publications. In the following three months there will be a transitional period in which the publications will change hands from Cubiqdesign to Iliffe Media and we aim to make this transitional period as stress-free as possible.
Edward Iliffe, Chief Executive of Iliffe Media, said, “We are delighted to have acquired these well-respected and established local magazines. With our long heritage as an independent, family-run media business, we firmly believe in the future of local publishing across all platforms, and these magazines are a natural extension to our burgeoning group of titles.”
Over the years, Becca Plaxton, has headed up our sales department. Becca will continue to work with Cubiqdesign and assist with the three-month transition period. Samantha Nice, who works in editorial, will now be continuing her career with Iliffe Media. The March edition of Velvet and iQ Magazine will be owned by Iliffe Media.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank you whole-heartedly for your support over the years and we look forward to keeping in contact,” says Gemma Treby.
