Treasure on Trinity Street

The Ethos

A piece of jewellery means so much more than just jewels and precious metals. It could symbolise a feeling, mark a life event, remember a loved-one, or just make you feel special. Whatever the meaning, often this sentimental value far outweighs the value on the price tag.

This is a feeling echoed by Trinity Street’s newest jewellers, Winsor Bishop. “Above all we are honoured to be involved in such a memorable milestone for our customers,” says Group Marketing Manager, Kristian. “That’s why we do our utmost to make them feel special by going the extra mile with our service,” he adds.

The Service

Top customer service is certainly what you get. Customers are invited into the shop for a free initial consultation to discuss style and budget, but this is not just any consultation… “We are very proud to be able to offer customers a glass of Laurent-Perrier champagne at our exclusive W Bar, which is unique in Cambridge,” says Kristian, adding that tea or coffee is also available.

This beautifully-crafted champagne bar is the showpiece of the store and provides a truly remarkable buying experience. “We find that it really helps to relax customers, making the consultation process much easier and more natural,” he tells us, “this is hugely important when finding out exactly what a customer wants.” A glass of champagne while mulling over exquisite jewellery? Don’t mind if we do!

Not only can you expect this level of customer service from knowledgeable and welcoming experts who are always on hand to help, but Winsor Bishop also offers a complimentary resizing service if ever required.

The History

Founded in 1834 in Norwich, Winsor Bishop has been creating astonishing jewellery for over 180 years. This stunning new branch in Cambridge opened in December 2016 and is a very exciting new venture for the company. “Cambridge was an obvious choice for our new store due to its importance as a city,” says Kristian, “not to mention that we already have many customers in the region,” he adds, obviously very excited to be bringing Winsor Bishop’s independent, quality pieces to the city.

Specialising in unique, one-off designs, the company is focused around creating sentimental pieces of jewellery that really mean something. “Everything in store is handmade to the highest levels of quality. Nothing is mass produced and low margins make for excellent price points,” he explains.

The Jewellery

As you would expect, the bridal market is a big part of Winsor Bishop’s business, and it therefore stocks a large collection of engagement rings to suit most budgets, from £750 all the way up to £6,000. Their in-house collection is handmade using carefully selected diamonds to ensure only the highest quality materials and level of craftmanship. And it doesn’t stop at engagement rings. Winsor Bishop also offers a great selection of wedding bands, bridal pearls and a variety of other jewellery for your big day. In fact, if you buy both your engagement and wedding rings at the store, you can take advantage of its ‘Something Borrowed’ complimentary hire service as a unique thank you for your loyalty. With a huge collection of classic styles to choose from, you can be sure to find the perfect finishing touch to your bridal outfit – and borrow it for free!

Aside from its bridal range, Winsor Bishop also offers a large variety of bespoke limited-edition collections. The Love and Luck collection comes in silver, white gold or rose gold and, starting from £350, would make the perfect Valentine’s Day surprise for your special someone. Also available is the famous London Collar collection, the Trapeze or Infinity collections, as well as lines such as Astley Clarke. And if you’re in the market for a quality new watch, you can find high-end brands such as Tag Heuer and Gucci in store.

However, although offering a wide variety of styles to suit every taste, if you’re looking for something truly unique, check out the bespoke service. Whether it is breathing life into an old piece that has been at the bottom of a jewellery box for many years, altering a gift that is not quite right, or designing a completely unique item from scratch, the Winsor Bishop design team can help.

So, whether you’re looking for the perfect Valentine’s gift, a way to mark a very special engagement, or something completely unique to you, be sure to pay Winsor Bishop a visit. With its very own in-store champagne bar, what more persuasion do you need?
